About the Sapphire Committee

The Sapphire Committee is a dynamic, forward-thinking group representing a fresh wave of philanthropy in the children's health sector in Queensland. 

Established in 2022, the committee is dedicated to supporting the Children’s Hospital Foundation and driving innovation in paediatric research with a focus on a modern, entrepreneurial approach to giving.

Through a dynamic calendar of fundraising events – including the prestigious Sapphire Gala, the community-driven Sapphire Cup, and other special initiatives – the committee brings to life, an innovative approach to philanthropy. 

Our always-on model connects people to the cause year-round, inspiring meaningful change and building a community of like-minded, values-driven supporters.

Our Mission

The Sapphire Committee is a passionate and visionary group of young philanthropists, dedicated to creating change for sick kids and their families through their support of the Children’s Hospital Foundation.  

OUR IMPACT

ACTION CENTRE

A $400,000 investment by the Sapphire Committee helped establish the ACTION (Advanced therapies and Clinical Trials InnovatiON) Centre in October 2023. It gives children living with rare diseases and complex illnesses access to cutting-edge treatments and potentially life-changing therapies. 

The Ian Frazer Centre

The Sapphire Committee invested $100,000 from its inaugural Supper Club event to help establish Australia’s first dedicated children’s immunotherapy research centre. The centre’s mission is to develop breakthrough cancer treatments for children.
